The Main Event

Saturday August 11, 2012
Tsongas Center at UMass Lowell Park

Gates open at 2:00 pm for general seating on a first come/first serve basis.

PLEASE bring your own chairs!!!! (Seats are not available)

Sitting on Towels or Blankets will NOT be permitted in the main festival area. (There will be a section where towel/blankets are allowed. *** Please Note: This is an obstructed view area***)

Handicap accessible seating area and facilities are available on the festival grounds.

No carry-in food or beverages allowed beyond entry gate. (exception: bottled water) NO COOLERS !!! Food, drink, and alcoholic beverages available on site.

NO DOGS allowed on the festival grounds!!!

Parking is available in the Tsongas Garage located adjacent to the grounds. There are also additional parking facilities throughout downtown Lowell. Many of these are within a short walk to the event.

Please consider bringing a non-perishable food item with you to the festival !!!

Food donations will be collected for the Merrimack Valley Food Bank, which provides food for thousands of families in the region through a network of member food pantries, shelters and meal programs.

Merrimack Valley Food Bank representatives will be at the Merrimack Valley Jazz Festival to collect the food that will in turn be given to individuals in our communities!

Directions:

From I-495 AND ROUTE 3: From the Boston Area take Route 3 North; from NH take Route 3 South
Traveling on I - 495, follow signs for the Lowell Connector - Exit 35C

Traveling on Rte. 3, Exit on to 495 toward the Lowell Connector (follow signs for the Connector).
Once you are on 495, you will take Exit 35C (Lowell Connector).

Exit off the Lowell Connector at Exit 5B - Thorndike Street.

This will take you directly onto Thorndike St. where you will merge with traffic; continue to stay in the right lane. This road will bring you directly in front of the Tsongas Center at UMass Lowell after approximately eight (8) traffic lights.

From I-93:
From the Boston Area take I-93 North, from NH take I-93 South

From Boston:
Traveling on I-93, take exit 44B off of I-93 - this will bring you onto I-495 South.
Follow above directions.


From New Hampshire:
Traveling on I-93, take exit 46 off of I-93

Follow Rte. 110 West to Lowell for approximately 7 miles until you get to the intersection of Rte. 38 and Bridge Street (you will see a Dunkin Donuts on your right).

At lights, take a left over the Cox Bridge.

After you go over bridge, stay to the right and at the first set of lights take a right onto French Street.

Go through 2 sets of lights - at the 3rd light you will see the arena set back on the right behind the post office.

** In case of inclement weather the Main Event will be held inside the Tsongas Center at UMass Lowell.
